Impact

Well, we made it another week at Impact. This was the first year with two kiddos, so I wasn't sure how it would go. As soon as we got there Leah developed a double ear infection. She was a trooper, and it definitely could have been worse. Isaiah was somewhat crazy, but he was on zyrtec the whole time, and that stuff makes him pretty crazy. I didn't think about that until we got back, so the whole time we were there I thought he was misbehaving pretty bad. I LOVED watching him get into worship. There is one song where the teens wave their arms and then clap. I caught him doing it while laying down for a nap. Leah seemed to handle the noise pretty well, but as always she didn't want to be still. I ended up standing a lot. Keith's parents live close by, and they don't get to see the kids very often, so it was nice for them to come and get Isaiah several days. It was nice for me to get a little break! We also were able to spend a little time with my sister and my niece Violet. I wish I could have gotten more pictures, but....and as bad as this sounds...I was just trying to survive. Keith had to teach both junior and senior, so we just didn't see him much. I know this post is all over the place, but I have to post when I can and things are crazy around the house.

He loved him some ice cream!

Isaiahs bed...love this thing. Made by Shrunks...it blows up with side rails.

Napping

Just loving while watching cartoons.

Father's Day

Each Father's day is spent at Impact, in Nashville, on the David Lipscomb campus. We all somehow fit into one little dorm room, and have a campout for an entire week. While the days are crazy, we still get to have a small amount of hubby and daddy time. We are still so overwhelmed each day with how blessed we are with little ones, and so grateful to celebrate the fact that God has trusted us to care for His children for how ever long He lets us. Happy Father's Day Keith!

The Adventures of Making a Snickers Cake!

My Aunt has given me a subscription to FoodNetwork Magazine for the past few Christmases. I love them so much and get so many ideas from them. There is one particular recipe I have wanted to try for months, but haven't had the time. Several of our girls (from the youth group) wanted to come over and hang out. I thought it would be something fun for us to do while they were here. Here was our journey.....

This is the cake we attempted.

Erin and Lindsey were soooo excited.....haha

No baking.....we used a pound cake!

Cutting in half and trimming down.

The first layer....a thick, and very rich, frosting.

Second layer...dulce de leche and peanuts. I almost cooked a can of condensed milk, but found cans at Kroger already made!

Last layer....yummy chocolate!

All done.....tthe caramel showed up better as we cut more pieces.
